Accessibility Statement
We want everyone to be able to use our website, including people with disabilities.
Our commitment
Wash My Can wants everyone to be able to use our website, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we review our pages as we change them.
What we've done
- A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page, shown when you press the Tab key.
- A clear page structure: header, navigation, main content, and footer areas, with content grouped into sections.
- One main heading (H1) on every page, followed by headings in a logical order (H1, then H2, then H3).
- Text descriptions for images, and decorative icons hidden from screen readers.
- Full keyboard use. Menus, the Pricing drop-down (press Escape to close it), buttons, and FAQ questions all work without a mouse.
- A visible focus outline on whatever you select with the keyboard: blue on light areas and white on dark areas.
- Labels on our navigation and menu button, and a spoken announcement when you choose a plan. The Spanish phrase in our top bar is marked so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, gliding scrolls and fade-in effects are turned off.
- A responsive design that adapts to phones, tablets, and computers, and pages that zoom without losing content.
- Text and button colors that meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text (3:1 for large text).
Known limitations
Our sign-up form is a Google Form shown on our page, so we can't change how it works. If it is hard to use, you can sign up another way:
We're available Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Some links go to other websites, such as the Solid Waste Authority and Instagram. We don't control how accessible those sites are.
Tell us about a problem
If anything on this site is hard to use, please call or email us. Tell us the page, what went wrong, and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we'll work with you to get you the information or service you need.
